We Are Hiring: Front End Developer

Company Overview

TKStarley (soon to be rebranded as SMOOF) is a small but highly skilled digital design agency with a diverse and interesting portfolio of clients, from large companies to fast-paced startups.

We specialise in beautiful design, clever UX and bespoke web and application development. We also love spending time working on our own in-house projects. Currently we are working together on emble.io (an event planning app), and are in the process of locking down our second round of investment. We relish being involved with interesting and rewarding projects that help us grow together as a team. We are all about providing an engaging, fun environment, in which we work hard on interesting projects, and always produce top quality results.

Job Description

We’re opening our doors and offering an opportunity for a skilled front end developer to come on board and join our close-knit team!

The lucky individual will get to learn a lot from our experienced staff, as well as have the opportunity to join us in developing the business and working on some awesome projects. Expect new responsibilities and challenges that test your technical and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

You will be actively involved in the development of new and existing projects. From conception to completion, you will be a valued member of the team and we will listen to and encourage ideas and suggestions. We believe that collaboration is key to a project’s success, and as a result we work very closely with one another, handcrafting quality code that we can be proud to put our name on.

A lot of your time will be spent producing highly accurate front end platforms, translating PSDs to HTML, CSS and JavaScript. We expect you to have an active interest in the latest approaches and methodologies, and a strong desire to produce the best work possible.

You should have already had a couple of years’ experience in working within the industry. That means you know your way around HTML 5, CSS 3 and JavaScript. You’ve worked with front end frameworks. You have a reasonable knowledge of a least one type of server-side scripting language (PHP, Ruby, etc). You should have a very keen eye for detail and be able to reproduce design work accurately using modern UX techniques and animations. You may have specialised in front end tech, or consider yourself more of a full stack kind of coder. You know how to Git.

If you are the right person for the job, there’ll be a lot of opportunity to grow and improve your knowledge. We support employee development and are happy to discuss training courses with you.

This is a great opportunity to join our growing team and work on some exciting projects across a wide range of clients. We are an enthusiastic and creative bunch that get on really well with one another – both in and out of work! We enjoy a beer together of a Friday afternoon, and have a cool employee perk scheme you can get involved in. There is occasionally ice cream, and we’ve got posh coffee on tap.
