We Are Hiring: Full-Stack Developer

Company Overview

TKStarley is a rapidly expanding digital design agency with a wide variety of clients. We specialise in a range of solutions, but our primary service offering is website design and development. We are currently also working on an event planning tool in-house (emble – https://emble.io), with a view to expand the business to incorporate more in-house development projects in the near future. We’re a small, close-knit team and it’s imperative the successful candidate for this role can fit in with us and the way that we work, so we want an individual who is a pro-active team player, implicitly trustworthy, highly experienced, likeable and up for the challenge that lies ahead.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced developer to join the TKStarley team at our office in Birmingham’s Science Park. The right candidate must be motivated and focused, with good organisational and written skills. We require a skilled and experienced full-stack developer to build and maintain our clients’ websites, as well as working on our in-house projects (including emble). The role will include planning, setting up, and managing new projects, and continuing the development of existing projects by implementing new features, versions and architecture changes. As a full-stack developer, the successful candidate will work with everything from front-end HTML, CSS and JS, to back-end languages including PHP and Zend. We want someone who can help us further develop a solid foundation for our current and future projects in order to support growth and scaling. You would be heavily involved with developing cross platform versions for iOS and Android, as well as implementing user feature requests and updates.

You will be involved at all stages of the development lifecycle for all projects, from requirement analysis through to development, testing, implementation, documentation and training. This role will require you to assume timely delivery of development projects through effective communication with the rest of the team. Whilst we currently work on a lot of websites for clients, we’re aiming to move more into the field of app development over the next 6-12 months. We foster an innovative environment, and would welcome ideas regarding other projects we could work on.

We think this role is an exciting opportunity for the right person to get on board with an interesting, established company that has a bright future. There’s an exciting period ahead of us as we continue to develop TKStarley and the emble application, and the right candidate for this job will play a key role as we expand. Every day will pose new challenges and you’ll be heavily involved with decision-making at a priority level. We support employee development and are happy to discuss training options with you if you would like to strengthen your skills in any area.
