Following our move to Birmingham we have been very interested in learning about the tech scene in Birmingham; with our brand new offices located at Innovation Birmingham Campus we are in the perfect position to with the help of Tech Wednesday.
Tech Wednesday is hosted by Innovation Birmingham to bring Birmingham tech community together. It is a monthly meet, where you can meet and collaborate with like-minded people from the tech industry. The event usually includes ‘Show ‘n Tells’ from a range of individuals or groups in the industry, such as getting feedback for a new idea, or startups talking us from their business journey to date. Anyone can present and the free pizza makes it a brilliant evening. We’ve really enjoyed meeting new friendly faces over the last few months and hearing about others’ tech success.
Last month, Tech Wednesday decided to celebrate the end of summer with a BBQ. Yes more free food! The great team at e4f didn’t let the dreadful weather but a downer on the meetup, and hosted a very enjoyable event. With 200 people in attendance including stakeholders, partners and other companies based at Innovation Birmingham Campus, our very own MD Tom described the event as ‘Great fun, it was interesting to have a diverse mix of businesses under one roof and great to see Birmingham’s tech scene together’.
The event wouldn’t have been possible without a number of generous sponsors, and we would like to thank them for the fab event. Sponsor Browne Jacobson are a full service law firm working with commercial, public sector and insurance organisation. Cloud9 are also based in Innovation Birmingham, and specialise in cost-effective telecoms solutions to businesses of all shapes and sizes. mca group offer clients a bespoke service that truly meets their requirements, and are committed to providing excellent customer support at all times. mca group were formed back in 2000 and have now worked with over 1,000 businesses! They are an energetic and independent firm of chartered accountants and business advisers. Nimvelo also sponsored the event. They aim to invent new ways of working and have invented an easier way for businesses to communicate. The very successful, world-leading specialist recruitment consultancy, Robert Walters also sponsored the event. Last but not least, another fellow Innovation Birmingham based organisation Synapse Information Ltd sponsored the fun summer BBQ. Synapse had the great idea of helping businesses collaborate on their spreadsheets, which is synchronised with every user’s spreadsheets.
