Back in Time: Mardave RC Site Revisit

Having designed and created the E-Commerce solution for Mardave RC a while back, it’s time to see whether their site has been successful or not for them. In the months since the project, TKStarley have provided support and advice on getting the best from the store including the introduction of a forum and social media – but has it worked? Let’s find out.

Mardave is no stranger to history; starting up back in the mid 60’s the company has seen it’s fair share of ups and downs. The company was behind the first RC Model car kit made in Europe, and won at the first U.K. RC Car race meeting held at Berk Hampstead in 1971. They also built the first permanent radio controlled model car race circuit in 1972 at New Bridge in Leicester.

Since having their site redeveloped by us in 2011, Mardave have definitely been experiencing an ‘up’. Taken from their website (mardave.co.uk),

“Mardave is in the middle of a very busy time, with new models on the horizon as well as a new website…”

In fact, since enlisting TKStarley’s help with their online activities, Mardave has seen a marked increase in sales, a huge increase in customer engagement and ultimately improved turnover.

We’re proud to have been able to affect this level of change in a UK business – and we want to shout about it too. Mardave already has a massive cult following within the RC industry, mainly because their products are “buckets of fun yet cheap to run and look after”. But also because now they have a valuable online presence to sell their products while promoting active customer engagement.

Mardave is here to stay – and the future is looking bright for this British company.
